The Start/Finish area is located at the Art Garden at the Mississippi Museum of Art at 380 South Lamar. The exact location of the starting line is the intersection of Pascagoula Street and Lamar Street.
Marathon, Half, Quarter & Relay begin at 7:00 a.m. Kids begin at 9:00 a.m.
There will a seven-hour time limit for both the marathon and half marathon. Runners on the course after seven hours will be allowed to finish unsupported. Aid stations, marshals and traffic control will be removed from the course at 2:00 p.m.
There is plenty of parking all around the start/finish area. Garage parking is available just steps from the starting line. The fee is $5 for the day. Enter the City Centre Garage from West St. or Pearl St. There are also lots across the street from the Convention Center/Expo and all metered parking downtown is free on weekends. There will be law enforcement officers in the start/finish area but please don't leave valuables visible in your car during the race. Mississippi Blues Marathon, LLC is not responsible for damage or loss to personal property.
If you need to stash some stuff, please take advantage of our gear check area. Gear check and race day packet pickup are both located under the Planetarium in the Mississippi Arts Center Building (not the Museum of Art) at the corner of Lamar and Pascagoula Streets, between the start and finish lines. Look for the banners marking the Gear Check and Race Day Packet Pickup area. Gear check will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Items left unclaimed will be donated to local charities on the Monday after the race. All bags left at gear check are subject to search.
There will be dozens of Porta-Johns along Lamar and Pascagoula Streets in the start/finish area and within .1 miles of every aid station on the course. If you don't see one on the course ask an aid station volunteer.
If you live in Jackson or you've run the Blues you know that some of our streets, well, they've got some blues of their own. We have done significant patching and repairing to get ready for the race but there are still bad spots out there.
Aid stations are located roughly every 1.6 miles through mile 20 and every mile from 20-25. Every station will offer water and Gatorade Endurance. Clif Shot is offered at mile 8 on the half and at miles 8, 15 and 21 on the marathon.
